Meet Todd
Todd is a fourth-generation South Dakotan who lives in De Smet. He and his son, Nick, operate Wilkinson Livestock, a family cow-calf and cattle-feeding operation. For more than 40 years, Todd has also practiced law at Wilkinson Law Firm, serving farmers, families, and local governments across Kingsbury, Lake, Miner, and Brookings Counties. He serves as president of the church board at the American Lutheran Church in De Smet and has long been active in community and civic organizations.
He’s earned a reputation as a fair, hard-working advocate who understands the challenges of rural life because he lives them every day.
Why He’s Running
South Dakota’s strength comes from its people, from family farms and small businesses to the local schools and churches that keep our towns together. Todd believes in protecting that way of life.
His priorities are simple:
Protect Agriculture and Private Property. Keep government out of the way so producers can do their work.
Keep Taxes Low and Budgets Balanced. Government should live within its means, just like South Dakota families.
Support Rural Infrastructure and Workforce. Invest in the essentials — roads, water, broadband, and childcare — to keep small towns growing.
